Title: MILLENNIALS CHANGING THE GAME: THE NEW GENERATIONS CHALLENGING THE WORKPLACE
Journal: Poslovna izvrsnost - Business Excellence
Abstract: Purpose: With a substantial presence of Generation Y members in the workforce and a growing number of Generation Z employees, managers are increasingly confronted with the challenge of navigating intergenerational differences among employees. In this research endeavour, the authors sought to explore the anticipated impacts of the emerging generation on work dynamics. Specifically, the objective is to discern potential disparities among generational cohorts concerning their attitudes toward work centrality and how these disparities might influence work engagement, with a particular emphasis on Generation Z. Methodology: The research endeavour was based on data from 204 participants spanning various generational cohorts aged between 19 and 48 years. The survey gathered data on the respondents’ demographic, work centrality, and work-related aspects and well-being. A Spearman’s rank-order correlation and a t-test were used for data analysis in SPSS. Findings and implications: The findings revealed a significant correlation between age and work engagement, as well as between work centrality and work engagement, suggesting nuanced relationships within the diverse age groups in the workforce. Limitations: The study mostly concentrated on the research context of the Republic of North Macedonia, leaving space for cross-regional and cross-country studies. Originality: As the workforce becomes increasingly diverse in terms of age, newer generations are instigating a transformation in workplace values, consequently shaping a novel professional environment. This leads to a growing interest in academic and practitioner circles. Yet, after an extensive search query in the Scopus database, it was found that there were very few articles detailing the differences in work centrality and work engagement levels among different age groups. So, this study will attempt to fill this gap.

Title: ENHANCING SALES EFFICIENCY WITH THE USE OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND ANALYTICS IN A PUBLIC COMPANY
Journal: Poslovna izvrsnost - Business Excellence
Abstract: The emergence of business intelligence (BI) from advancements in information technology transforms vast amounts of company data into valuable information crucial for strategic decision-making. Numerous studies have shown that very little data is actually used in making strategic decisions, and their quality and comparability are often questionable. Questions of the usefulness of data and their analytical processing occupy an important area in business intelligence. For the purposes of this paper, the use of BI systems for analysis and reporting in public company Croatian Post was analysed. The aim of this research is to examine whether the application of the BI system in the sales network increases the efficiency of sales workers as a result of database management and analytical processing. The paper utilized data collected from the Sales Efficiency System (SES) regarding realized sales and sales efficiency of sales workers over a five-year period from 2018 to 2022, comparing them with data from 2017, i.e., the year preceding the introduction of the SES system. Sales realization per worker and per customer were used as indicators of sales efficiency. The findings reveal a significant increase in sales realization per worker and per customer following the implementation of the BI system in the sales network. Interpretations and implications of results are further discussed in the study. By shedding light on the benefits of BI system adoption in optimizing sales efficiency, this research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the utilization of information technology in enhancing organizational performance.

Title: JOINT VENTURE MANAGEMENT RISKS: A CASE STUDY
Journal: Poslovna izvrsnost - Business Excellence
Abstract: Sa zajedničkim pothvatom povezuju se brojni rizici među kojima su najizraženiji rizici upravljanja.

Title: DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENTS IN ASIAN COUNTRIES
Journal: Poslovna izvrsnost - Business Excellence
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to investigate the development of sustainable investments in the Asian region and identify the role of individual Asian countries in promoting the development of sustainable investments. Secondary data from relevant domestic and foreign literature sources, including scientific articles, expert reports, and relevant websites, are used in this study. The analysis confirms that Asian investors are increasingly interested in integrating ESG factors into investment decisions and recognize the positive impact of sustainable investments on environmental protection, societal advancement, and the overall financial sector. Contribution of this study lies in its comprehensive analysis of sustainable investment trends in the Asian region, shedding light on the evolving landscape of responsible investment practices. However, it is important to note that this study has certain limitations, such as the reliance on secondary data and the scope of available literature. Additionally, while there is a growing body of research on sustainable investments, there is still room for further exploration and empirical studies, particularly in the context of Asian countries. The study emphasizes the potential of sustainable investments to promote financial sustainability and economic stability, while also supporting positive global changes.

Title: SUSTAINABILITY OF THE FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT MODEL IN THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA
Journal: Poslovna izvrsnost - Business Excellence
Abstract: The significance of this work is multifaceted, reflecting a wide range of potential impacts that free public transportation could have on society, the environment, and urban fabric. Delving into this topic, the research aims to clarify the potential transformative power of free public transportation, offering a clear understanding that could inform policy, planning, and social perspectives. From a social standpoint, the work is crucial in exploring how free public transportation can improve accessibility and mobility for all segments of society, particularly benefiting those in lower socio-economic strata. It highlights the potential for such a policy to act as an equalizer in urban societies, reducing disparities in mobility access and, more broadly, social and economic opportunities. By facilitating a more inclusive urban mobility realm, free public transportation could play a key role in promoting social cohesion and equality. From an ecological perspective, research on free public transportation is at the centre of contemporary discussions on sustainable urban development and environmental concerns. This work seeks to illuminate the ecological benefits of increased public transportation usage, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, and traffic congestion. By offering a systematic analysis of these aspects, the research contributes to a deeper understanding of how urban mobility innovations can align with environmental sustainability goals, in line with global efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change. In an urban context, the significance of the work is anchored in its potential to inform urban planning and policy. It examines the implications of free public transportation on urban infrastructure, land use, and overall urban quality of life. The research explores how such a policy could impact urban form, potentially leading to more compact, efficient cities conducive to living. Furthermore, it addresses the operational and strategic dimensions of implementing free public transportation, providing insight into its feasibility and integration into broader urban mobility strategies. Ultimately, the work aims to offer a comprehensive and empirically grounded analysis that clarifies the potential benefits and challenges of free public transportation. It seeks to contribute valuable knowledge to the academic field, support informed policy-making, and stimulate public discourse on sustainable solutions for urban mobility in Croatia and beyond. As a basis for the work, secondary data were used, that is, a literature review of existing research.
